FAQ

What is water efficiency?

Water efficiency is using the minimum amount of water to carry out a task. For example, water efficient toilets use less water per flush than nonwater-efficient toilets.

What is greywater?

Greywater is relatively clean wastewater from appliances such as sinks, showers, and washing machines. Any wastewater that does not have fecal matter is considered greywater. It is possible for greywater to have the same substances that go down the listed appliances in it. This includes hair, house cleaning supplies, and food.

What is rainwater harvesting?

Rainwater harvesting is the collection of rain, whether it be with a system of sorts or a rain barrel, to be used as an alternative water supply for nonpotable purposes. If filtered properly, rainwater can be used for potable purposes.

Is it important to become more water efficient?

Yes! There is a limited supply of water on this planet and it is continuing to decrease. Not only will you be helping the environment by conserving water, but you will be lowering your water bill!

Below is a helpful video for those who are contemplating about creating their own rainwater harvesting system.
